Welcome to class 4RC 2019-2020
We started our World Book Week with a Theatre workshop on ‘The Worst Witch’.
Today we took part in a felt workshop to support our work on the Egyptians. We made the felt from wool and water, then decorated it with a scene showing The River Nile and The Pyramids.
28th February 2020
Today we have been using what we have learned about fractions to make our own games. Questions include equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting and finding fractions of amounts.
For Safer Internet Day 2020 4RC discussed the importance of not giving any personal details online and to tell a trusted adult about anything they thought wasn’t right on the computer.
Friday 7th February
As part of children’s mental health week, one of our activities today was a Yoga session. We learnt techniques for calming ourselves and how to recognise when our bodies are relaxed. We also had lots of fun trying out different Yoga positions!
Thursday 16th January
This half term our Science topic is “Electricty”. Today we have been investigating and explaining whether circuits are complete or not, based on a diagram.
Wednesday 13th November
This week, for Anti-Bullying week, we made friendship tokens and gave them to someone else in school to make them feel happy and valued.
Thursday 1st November
In Science we have be learning about solids, liquids and gases. We have carried out an investigation with fizzy drinks to find out if gases have weight.
Wednesday 30th October
Year 4 enjoyed a Gospel Choir Workshop as part of our celebrations for Black History month.
Thursday 17th/Friday 18th October
For our end of term STEAM project we have been designing and making a shelter to protect an endangered animal.
We though about different species of endangered animal and what kinds of things would be needed to keep our animal safe from predators. We had a lot of fun making our shelters!
Wednesday 16th October
Class 4RC enjoyed running a Rainforest Cafe today for family members. The mocktails were delicious!
Tuesday 8th October
Today, we visited St. Peter's Church in Hale to learn all about Harvest.
Today we have been searching the playground for invertebrates in the glorious sunshine. We have used a classification key to identify what the animal is if we’re not able to recognise it.
