Mrs Columb Class 3RC

I have been teaching at Stamford Park for 8 years and I have taught classes in Year 3 and 4. I now teach year 3 for two days a week alongside Mrs Rainford. I enjoy working at SPJS because everyone is so enthusiastic and eager to learn.

Outside school, my hobbies mainly involve taking part in, and watching sport. I enjoy swimming and watching most sports, particularly rugby union and I support my hometown team of Leicester Tigers.

When I was at school, my favourite subjects were maths and French.

Mrs Rainford Class 3RC

I am an experienced junior school teacher who worked in Nottingham before joining Stamford Park. I have taught all age groups from Year Three to Six. My degree is in geography so I’m delighted to use my expertise in this field to develop the geography curriculum in school. I also enjoy running the school’s cross country club and taking children to compete in races against other schools.

In my spare time I like to read, draw and jog around the local park. However I seem to spend most of my time being a taxi service for my children!

Miss Wray Class 3JW

This is my second year teaching at Stamford Park Junior School and I am teaching a Year 3 class this year. I enjoy everything about being a teacher; my favourite subjects to teach are creative writing, history and science.

In my free time I go kayaking and camping and spend as much time with my family as possible.

Miss Horrocks Class 4LH

This is my fourth year teaching Year 4 at SPJS and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I enjoy teaching history as I find the Elizabethan period fascinating. I also enjoy teaching literacy as I love reading the amazing stories the children write.

When not working I enjoy being creative and love making clothes and modelling using clay. I have recently taken up snowboarding and am determined to master it!

Miss Miller Class 4FM

After thoroughly enjoying spending time teaching Year 6 as a student teacher, I am delighted to be returning to SPJS to teach in Year 4. I am looking forward to continuing to play my part in the friendly school community and delivering exciting and engaging lessons. My favourite subjects to teach are science and art because they allow pupils to explore the wider world whilst being inventive and creative.

In my free time I enjoy being outdoors- especially cycling, camping and climbing. I also have a passion for food and love to cook and bake for family and friends.

Mr Smart Class 5JS

This is my third year teaching at Stamford Park and I am absolutely delighted to teach a vivacious class of bright sparks! I enjoy being our school's science coordinator because it's an exciting subject of mystery, experiments and intrigue.

In my spare time, I enjoy practicing Slavic languages such as Czech and Polish, cycling long distance while camping through various European countries and playing lots of football.

In the future I would love to be able to play Vivaldi's famous pieces on the violin, or Rachmaninov on the piano, and to perhaps become a music teacher!

Miss Wallis Class 5KW

I am currently teaching in Year 5 and am enjoying working with a new year group. SPJS is a school where everyone is friendly. In our class we like to learn about each other and like to share with each other the fun and exciting things we do outside of school.

I am fascinated by history and the past. ( I would love a time machine to go exploring.) I am an active person and try to keep fit. In the past I have qualified as a ski instructor and as a sports massage therapist. I take a keen interest in sports, especially rugby – I am Sale Sharks fan, motor sports and I enjoy Yoga and Pilates.

My family and friends are extremely important to me and I try to spend as much time with them as I can.

Miss Birchall Class 6KB

This is my fifth year teaching at Stamford Park. I have taught Year 3 for four years and I am currently teaching Year 6, which I am thoroughly enjoying. I am also the school's SENCO, which means that I make sure that I work hard to ensure that children with special educational needs are supported in school.

When I was at school, my favourite subject was English as I love reading and writing. It is also the subject that I studied for my undergraduate degree at university. English is now my favourite subject to teach as I am very passionate about literacy and I am keen to inspire this passion in my students. I still love nothing more than curling up with a good book!

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, going to the gym and travelling to different places in the world. I am hoping to have the opportunity to visit or teach in a school abroad in the future.

Mr Odell Class 6RO

This is my second year as Assistant Head Teacher at Stamford Park Junior School. I have been here for seven years and taught in a range of year groups from Year 4 to Year 6. I thoroughly enjoy teaching all subjects, although  my favourites are maths, geography and PE.

I am a keen sportsman who loves most sports, particularly running, football, tennis and cricket. However, as I get older, I seem to do more ferrying around of my young family so that they can enjoy their sporting adventures, rather than taking part in my own pursuits.

I enjoy many parts of working at SPJS:  residential trips to Robinwood, hosting various PTA events, such as the Beetle Drive, and escorting the school teams to a variety of sporting events.

Miss Jones

This is my second year as Deputy Head at Stamford Park Junior School. My favourite subject to teach is English, as I absolutely love to read and write. In fact, English was my degree at University too. In the future, I'd love to write a book for children and have it appear in our school library!

In my spare time, I really enjoy travelling and experiencing new countries; especially where the weather is better than English weather! Next year I'm hoping to visit several destinations in Asia to learn more about their culture. I also enjoy playing netball and taking my rather wild puppy for walks too.

Mrs Rodgers

This is my third year at Stamford Park Junior School. I am currently enjoying teaching Year 5 and Year 6 a variety of subjects and working with children identified as Gifted and Talented.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my one year old son and, when I have time, playing netball and taking part in triathlons.

Mrs Rowley

As a music specialist I have taught for many years in both primary and secondary schools. It is an immense privilege to teach at such a successful and go-ahead school as Stamford Park Junior, and with such delightful pupils too.In my role as music co-ordinator I have seen the subject grow significantly in the school over the last few years. I love the fact that so many children enjoy music and are involved in the many musical activities and ensembles which take place at the school. Long may it continue!

When not working I enjoy running (believe it or not, I recently ran the Wilmslow Half- Marathon!), fell walking, particularly in the Lake District and sailing ( in warm seas only!). I suppose my biggest hobby is an extension of my job. After my family, “Music is my first love”; and as our Senior Choir sang: “ As long as I have music, As long as there’s a song for me to sing” I’ll be content.

Mrs Wright

I am very lucky to have been teaching at Stamford Park Junior School for 9 years but I have been teaching for 24 years!! Wow it doesn’t seem like it! However in that time I have taught every year group from Nursery to Year 6. I am currently teaching across all year groups and enjoy the variety. I am a PE Specialist but have also been subject leader for RE, history, geography and currently MFL, which is great as I love teaching French and Spanish.

I played football for a number of Women’s teams over the years including my college team, Manchester City, Bury, Stockport County but a few years ago I had a number of injuries in the space of a few short months and my mum said I should retire!

Now my hobbies include watching football (favourite team is Manchester United), rugby union (favourite team Sale before they were ever aquatic!) and pretty much any type of athletics.I was glued to the television during the Olympics !! I also enjoy walking and gardening.

My favourite subjects to teach are PE, French, numeracy and history.

I was born and lived for many years in Sale but now reside in sunny Cheshire near Harry Styles and Jodrell Bank!!
