Please take a close look at the revision sheet for homework this week. It will refresh your memory of some commonly misspelled words and key grammatical terms.
Also remember to keep working through your SATs revision books in preparation for next weeks assessments.
After working really hard over the past few weeks, the children performed and demonstrated their knowledge about their chosen country from around the world. Parents were treated to four original presentations, chosen by the classes and were then able to sample the food from around the world. There was a buzz of excitement from both children and parents.
Well done for all the hard work.
6RO had a visit from some Humanist speakers to help conclude the excellent work the children have done during RE lessons this term. The children posed some very intriguing questions after listening to the presenters and it showed that they have taken to the new style of discussion based RE lessons.
A big thank you must go to Mrs Cook for organizing the event.

Year 6 took a trip to the Crucial Crew, which was an afternoon where the children could learn about different aspects of safety.
The children took part in six different workshops throughout the afternoon;
* the effects of smoking
* streetwise, knowing how to prevent becoming a victim of street crime and what to do if something happens,
* staying safe around the railway, dangers and consequences of not following the safety rules around the railway lines,
* road safety, including the 'Stop, Look, Listen, Live' information
* the danger of alcohol, how to identify alcoholic drinks and their strength and its effect on the body.
* travel safe, information about the rules to follow when taking public transport.
* antisocial behaviour session, gave children an insight of the legal aspects linked to antisocial behaviour.
The sessions were a real eye opener for many children, who asked many very sensible questions to further their understanding.
We hope that the children will take this information forward into the future and stay safe.
Happy new year

Welcome to Class 6RO
Children in Year 6 have begun their journey well and are responding well to the academic challenges. We have only been back for a few weeks yet we have produced some excellent work. The children are thoroughly enjoying the Conflict topic, finding out about the causes of WW2 and the human reaction from around the world.

The children enjoying a quick game of cards to practice their French numbers through times tables.

Class 6RO are developing their knowledge of 'Light' within science. They have been focusing on the fact that light travels in straight lines and have experimented with torches and mirrors. They have used the information gleaned from the torch experiment to build their own periscopes.
A practical experiment that involved precision cutting and mathematical angle work.
16th November 2016
The pupils in both Year classes will be taking the National Primary Mathematics Challenge this week. Gook luck to all pupils and hopefully we will be able to celebrate getting some of them through to the bonus round.

The children have been developing a rap, based around friendship, which links into the Antibullying week work that we have been doing.
When the children have finished and refined their performance, we hope to upload the winning group's video.
We have started our science topic on Energy.
Year 6 have been taking part in the Beth Tweddle inspired gymnastics sessions. We have focused on developing core strength, balance, rolls (forward, backward etc) and turns.
